Our many thanks and much appreciation goes out to the Winside volunteer firefighters and EMT'S for your unselfish efforts of keeping all of us safe. A big thank you goes out to the Hoskins, Carroll and Wayne firefighters and EMT's as well. The sacrifices you and your families make is immeasurable. I sincerely thank you as well ... in memory of Josh Grubb.
And now for the pictures of the tour!!!!!!!
Except for a little wind, it was beautiful fall day for a walk to the fire hall.
Winside Fire Chief, Don Skokan, did a fabulous job talking to the kindergarten and first grade kiddos about being prepared in case they ever were in a fire and how to talk to the dispatchers. The iddos were surprised when the Wayne dispatcher gave a "shout out" to the Winside Kindergarten and First grade classes visiting the Winside Fire Hall during a pager test!
Getting ready to watch a video on how to prepare for a fire exit plan from your own home told from a child's point of view. An excellent video!!!
Volunteer Chris Olander getting a little help from Sandy Atkins while putting on all of his gear. It is important to show the boys and girls what a firefighter looks and sounds like with everything on so they are never afraid in case they are ever in a fire.
Not sure why my pictures were so dark .... new camera plus bad photographer....all the reflectors working against my flash??????????
Exploring the trucks...they couldn't WAIT to start climbing!!!!!
I tried several times to turn this picture around but it just wouldn't cooperate...sorry!
Posing in front of the antique fire truck...
...in the ambulance...
....and in front of the pump truck.
Each kindergartner and first grader received a fire hat and a bag with fire safety information to take home along with some other goodies!
THANK YOU WINSIDE VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS FOR AN AWESOME AFTERNOON! YOU GUYS REALLY ROCK!!!!!!!!
