October Math Stations

Quite a bit of our time in the afternoon is spent on Math.  We have our regular 30 minute Math time working with our regular math curriculum.  That is followed with our Accelerated Math time.  Once boys and girls have finished with their AM and I have looked it over, they are free to go to their Math Station.  These are activities in which a skill we a currently working one or has already been introduced are available for practice.

Take a look at what October had to offer.......

Emily is working on making patterns with fall leaves.
Here is her recording sheet.

Madi is working on number recognition using dice.

Madi finds the number on her recoding sheet and colors it in.

Justyn is working on shape recognition.
A space is colored in for each shape Justyn rolls on his dice.  It is always fun to see which shape "wins"!

Another station was numbers and sets.  Trevin was working on this haunted house activity using these cute Halloween erasers I bought on the haunted house math mat.

On the recording sheet, Trevin was to write his numbers from one to ten.

Kadence was working on counting by tens to 100 with the Halloween bats.
Cameron was practicing counting by tens using the candy corn.

Recording the information provides extra reinforcement and another opportunity for learning.

To help practice counting by five this station used tally marks.
Skylar was practicing her fives here.

Here is a look at the recording page.  The kiddos were to make the tally marks and write the numbers.  This kiddos decided to decorate the witch hats instead.  :o)
